It’s Time To Give Up!

Are you stuck between a rock and a hard place? Give your predicament Up, to The Rock that is higher than you. “This is what the Almighty LORD says: I am going to lay a Rock in Zion, a Rock that has been tested, a precious cornerstone, a solid foundation. Whoever believes [in Him] will not worry.” Isaiah 28:16

Are you heavy laden? Cumbered with a load of care? Give your burdens Up to the Lord. “Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Are you blessed coming in and going out? Give your gratitude Up, to the Lord. “Give thanks unto the Lord for He is good.” Psalm 136

Is your quiver full of arrows? Give your children Up to The Lord, who is their Father. “Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” Psalm 127:4-5

Are your barns overflowing with grains and your vats bursting with new wine? Give your first fruits Up unto the Lord, your Provider. “Honor the LORD from your wealth and from the first of all your produce.” Proverbs 3:9

Are you alive and kicking? Give yourself Up unto the Lord. “Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship.” Romans 12:1

Are you dumbfounded by the happenings of this world? Give your tongue Up to the Lord. “My heart is overflowing with a good word; I speak of the things which I have done concerning the king; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.” Psalm 45:1

Are you tired of running your own life? Give Up ownership and let Christ be your Lord and Savior!

Are you ready to give up? Would you like Jesus Christ to take over? Allow me to pray with you. Say, “Dear God, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I admit that I am not right with You, and I want to be right with You. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. The Bible says if I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved (Rom. 10:9). I believe with my heart and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord and Savior of my life. Thank You for saving me!
In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.”

If you prayed this prayer, feel free to inbox me here and I will guide you as Christ guides me. Alternatively, follow Nations Arise Revival Ministries for Daily Devotions. God bless you.

A TWO-IN-ONE AGENDA

🔥ANCIENT WORDS DEVOTION🔥
Wednesday, May 30, 2018

📜Hebrews 4:12 “For the Word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

💪🏾We know that God is all powerful and we also know that He has magnified His Word above His Name (Psalm 138:2). He goes ahead and assures us that no Word that proceeds from His mouth returns empty, without accomplishing His desire and without succeeding in the matter for which He sent it. Isaiah 55:11

✝We should therefore be very careful with the Word of God. The same Word that delivers also destroys, depending on the state of our hearts. The Spirit of God is never absent from His Word.

💥Everytime we come into contact with the Word of God (through personal study, sermons, or even one-on-one exhortation), something happens within us. The Word illuminates our innermost beings and sorts the good from the bad. Thereafter we need to take action, as the Spirit of God leads.

🤷🏽‍♂”But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.” Luke 12:48

🔥👉🏾You’re better off not reading the Bible than puffing yourself up with knowledge without following the instructions therein.

💡The Word of God works; not by us bending it to suit our situation, but by God mending us to spot the revelation. ©αnneobure

🙏🏾Father, only You could make The Word alive and active. Remind me to remain aware of the Power (The Holy Spirit) behind Your Word (Jesus Christ) at all times, that I may not abuse You, in Jesus Name, Amen.

Heart To Heart

A Perfect Match!
Plucked Out!
A Magnetic Effect!

It all began when I surrendered my heart to God (Proverbs 23:6). My heart stopped trusting in itself and began to trust in God (Proverbs 3:5) thus plucking out fear and troubles (John 14:27) since it was now being guarded by the peace of God (Philippians 4:7). Like a magnet, my heart began to derive its strength from God and not flesh (Psalms 73:26) through tests and exams set by the Lord (Psalms 26:2). This process involved breaking it, with the intention of drawing it closer to God (Psalms 34:18).

The final result is a pure heart (Psalms 51:10); a blessed heart (Matthew 5:8); a heart not trusting in an idol or swearing by a false god (Psalms 24:4); a heart whose meditation pleases God (Psalms 19:14) by having all its desires in line with God’s delight (Psalms 37:4) through following after the treasures of heaven (Matthew 6:21) and is forever wholly giving thanks unto the Lord and telling of His wonderful deeds (Psalms 9:1).

Action Plan: Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life. (Proverbs 4:23)

Prayer: Father, our hearts intentionally choose to trust wholly in You. We surrender all our heart’s desires, plans, thoughts and everything within us to Your Lordship, that you may guide us, guard us, strengthen us, break us. Lead our desires to be in line with Your delight that we may follow after heavenly treasures, daily meditating on Your Word.  May our hearts respond to You as metal is to magnet. We therefore pluck our hearts from our own control as the magnetic effect takes place. Ours is to thank You for all that You have already done as we tell of Your wonderful deeds to the ends of the earth. Lots of love coming from our hearts to You in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

The Exchange Programme

Total Relief!

A New Creature.

When I was in High School there used to be an Exchange Programme whereby the two top scorers in Form Three got a chance to visit the United States of America as two Americans came to Kenya and schooled with us during this season. Oh how we had a steep competition as we all yearned to travel overseas, knowing that only 2 out of 200 would ultimately enjoy this opportunity.

In those days there was no internet to show us how America looked like. We would wait for the two who’d be coming from there and befriending them would be our number one goal, with the objective of learning all that we possibly could about this foreign land. They dressed differently, talked with a peculiar accent and even looked different. Everything they did was our interpretation of how America was like. On the other hand, they were so fascinated with Africa! Most of them went through serious culture shock and after a few days were crying to return to America, where everything seemed easy and enjoyable.

This can be compared to Jesus’ visit to planet earth. He came from heaven to earth, to show us the Way. He came to ultimately redeem us from sin and death by dying on our behalf. He came with the look of heaven, dressed in the Full Armor of God and speaking a heavenly language; ready to demonstrate to us how we ought to live and show us where we belong. In short, He is our Exchange Programme; One to take our part and we, His; The Divine Exchange. He says:

  • I died for you that you might live with me (1 Thessalonians 5:10)
  • Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)
  • I give beauty for ashes, strength  for fear, gladness for mourning and peace  for despair (Isaiah 61:3)
  • Come now, and let us reason together… though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (Isaiah 1:18)
  • I have turned your mourning  into dancing; I have taken off your sackcloth and clothed you with joy (Psalms 30:11)
  • Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. (Joel 3:10)
  • Give, and you will receive… (Luke 6:38)
  • I have called you out of darkness and into My marvelous Light. (1 Peter 2:9)
  • Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58)

Another illustration of this Divine Exchange is seen through the Sermon on The Mount (Matthew 5:3 – 12):

Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

From 1 Corinthians 11:29, I can boldly say that after discerning the Body of Christ and accepting that He died on the cross and rose again, every time we partake of the Holy Communion, we are revived (as opposed to judgement), we are strengthened and healed (as opposed to weak and sick) and we receive life (as opposed to falling asleep – dying).

Prayer: Here we are Father, approaching You in the Name of Jesus Christ and by the Power of the Holy Spirit. Everyday we receive something new from You as we surrender our burdens at the foot of the Cross. We’re transformed into Your likeness (2 Cor 3:18) as we gaze upon You. We shall no longer hide from You when we need help, knowing that our help only comes from You. Thank You Lord for drawing us to Yourself. We desire to know You more; to drink from the River that never runs dry. You are the God of Love and this is exactly what we need since Love conquers all! (1 Peter 4:8). Amen!

The Day of The Lord

Crisp, Clear and Concise.
The Final Trumpet.
Greatest Reprieve!
Closer To The End of The Earth.

Let’s begin by summarizing the 3 steps before eternity checks in:

  1. Creation: It all began with the creation story. Adam was created by God solely for the purpose of him worshiping God. He used to commune with God face to face. The idea was for him to fill the earth with the likes of him and his beloved wife  Eve. Unfortunately the devil managed to trick him (as well as his wife) and sin checked in, giving birth to death. They could no longer appear before God as they used to. Man lost authority over the earth to the devil. Sin brought a curse into the world. Every one born of Adam was therefore born with this decaying nature, destined to suffer and ultimately die.
  2. Redemption: Thanks be to God for He already had a plan (He always does). God knows the end from the beginning. He is the Alpha and the Omega. Knowing that everyone born of man could not save man from this eternal death, He sent Jesus Christ, born of His Spirit, blameless in all His ways, to save the world. That is why Jesus had to be born of a virgin: so that He doesn’t possess the blood of man, which is already defiled. Did you know that in the fetus’ blood does not mix with it’s mother’s blood? Read more on this here. He came and died, went to hell and won back the keys to life. He did it all for you and I. Hell was never created for any man to occupy. The Holy Spirit came after Jesus returned to the Father so that He may guide us into all Truth – showing us how to become more like Jesus, that we may show the world the Word that came to set us (them) free.
  3. Salvation: God created us with self will. He calls us, by His Spirit, to His own and gives us the final choice to make. Salvation undid the curse and brought a blessing into the world. The only way to enter the Kingdom of God once again is through accepting the Lordship of Christ: allowing the blood of Jesus to wash away our sins and His death to speak for us, that we may attain eternal life – a place with no disease, no sorrow, no war, no sadness, no devils, no heartache. A place we shall forever worship our Father and our God.

The day of the Lord is near: a day when Jesus, our groom, is coming for us, His bride, to forever dwell with Him in eternity. This day is drawing nearer and nearer with every passing day. Isaiah Chapter 13 describes this day vividly (I hope to come up with a movie on it one day). Let me summarize it: God has prepared His army by placing His eternal purpose in all who have accepted His call. By prayer, fasting, witnessing and living a God – Centred life, we advance the kingdom of God, and He in turn draws the world to Himself. Why so? Because this earth is passing away. Scientists have proven that the ozone is depleting, the water bodies are exceeding their boundaries, earthquakes are coming, etc. In short, creation is groaning for the manifestation of the Sons of God. (Romans 8:19). Great destruction is coming and it will consume every fallen thing that will be on earth then. The earth will be destroyed and a new heaven and a new earth will arise. Should we panic? Not at all! God’s got us covered.

Action Plan:

  • Let us walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil. (Ephesians 5:15-16)
  • Let us speak boldly of the Gospel of Christ because it is the only power that can overcome the world. (Romans 1:16)
  • Let us go boldly to the ends of the earth because God is going with us and is giving us victory (Deuteronomy 20:4)
  • Let us do all that the Father tells us to do because everything works together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called by His name (Romans 8:28)
  • Let us gather together to pray and fast because it is the Lord mobilizing an army for war (Isaiah 13:4)
  • Let us remember to give God all the glory because He is the One causing us to triumph in His Name as we spread His Word – Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 2:14)

Prayer:

Thank you Lord for creating us, Thank You Lord for redeeming the world and saving us from death and into eternal life. Thank You for empowering us for the calling You have appointed us for. Thank You Holy Spirit for revealing Christ to us and guiding us in every step that we take. Lord You said, ‘Occupy till I come’. May our occupation be a fruitful one: winning souls, prospering in body and in soul, overcoming the evil one, doing what we see our Father in heaven do and making use of each and every resource you have made available to us, including social media.  I speak victory all round. I speak brotherly Love. I speak divine health. I speak salvation to every creature. I speak in the Name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Silence The World – Awaken The Truth

  • They taught me: necessity is the mother of invention; I have learned that simplicity is the Father of revelation. The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.’ – Psalm 119:130.
  • They taught me: God helps those who help themselves; I have learned that God lifts those who humble themselves. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.’ – James 4:10.
  • They taught me: Out of sight out of mind. I have learned to walk by faith, not by sight. ‘For we walk by faith, not by sight.’ – 2 Corinthians 5:7.
  • They taught me: Fight back when beaten up. I have learned to offer my left cheek after the right’s been slapped. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.’ – Luke 6:29.
  • They taught me: First come first served. I have learned to wait on the Lord. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.’ – Isaiah 40:31.
  • They taught me: Do It yourself. I have learned to partner with God. ‘For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.’ – Philippians 2:13.
  • They taught me: Only babies cry. I have learned to be broken before my Lord. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.’ – Psalm 51:17.

  • They taught me: I’d experience bloggers block. I choose to drink from the fountain that never runs dry. ‘And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.’ – Isaiah 58:11.
  • They taught me: Many gods; one for each category of life. I have met my One and Only God; The Love of my life. ‘I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me.’ – Isaiah 45:5.
  • I am now teaching them The Way, The Truth, The Life; As I zip up the world, the dupe, the lies. ‘Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.’ – 2 Timothy 4:2.

Divided we generate unnecessary agony.
Together we release a sweet smelling fragrance;
Divided we allow the enemy to advance.

When we combine every ability.

Hell Fire

Via Fry!

As the Spirit of the Lord leads us to repentance, sometimes He uses the harsh reality of damnation so as to soften our hardened hearts. He doesn’t do this to scare us back to The Way Of Life Everlasting but rather to salvage us from eternal death that was not designed for man. This bottomless pit is real guys. Even the fallen angels don’t wanna be sent there.

Things shall fry, and not die
Things shall fry, I not lie
Things shall fry, my heart cries
Things shall fry, the time’s nigh

Turn away from these things that are not of God while Grace still abounds. Place them at the foot of the Cross: our cusp. Divine exchange will begin to happen:

He’ll give beauty for ashes
He’ll give strength for fear
He’ll give gladness for mourning
He’ll give peace for despair

I have had a taste of heaven and it has changed my life forever. I not only look forward to spending eternity beholding God’s Beauty and Splendor, but I also look forward to sharing this paradise with you. My hearts desire is that when the Spirit of the Lord leads you to repentance, you shall yield to Him.

This is my message to all who have tasted the goodness of the Lord but have become callous. The Angel of Revival is coming with judgment on her wings. Only two things will happen: The good will begin to fly (soar in the things of God with no struggle, life to all areas of death) and the bad will begin to fry (flesh will eat itself up, death in all areas of life)

“Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster.”  – Deuteronomy 30:15

Sooner Than Later

Just when I had reached my end,

You Rose!

Just when I had lost everything,

You Rose!

Just when I had lost all hope,

You Rose!

Just when they had branded me fatherless,

You Rose!

Just when I had been swallowed up,

You Rose!

Just when I was about to give up,

You Rose!

You Rose,

And gave me a new beginning!

You Rose,

And restored every lost thing!

You Rose,

And made me hope again!

You Rose,

And ushered me to the Father!

You Rose,

And snatched me from the enemy’s snare.

You Rose,

And revived me!

The gospel shall be published among all nations,

Then I’ll Rise!

The sun shall be darkened,

Then I’ll Rise!

The moon shall not give her light,

Then I’ll Rise!

The stars of heaven shall fall,

Then I’ll Rise!

The powers that are in heaven shall be shaken,

Then I’ll Rise!

The Son of man shall be seen coming in the clouds with great power and glory,

Then I’ll Rise!

I shall meet Him in the air,

Then together, we will Rise!

Liquid Love

Wow! When  God revealed this to me, I was utterly amazed. Today I was experiencing blogger’s block, not knowing that when I’m down to nothing, God’s up to something. He made me come up with the above illustration of Matthew 17:5 and I noticed how those center words (underlined) flow like a river; from above. God’s in the business of  revealing heaven’s answers to earth’s questions. This River heals everything that lies wherever it flows.

Now that we know Whom God is well pleased with, ain’t it easy to know how to please God? (Life’s FAQs) Simply follow Christ. You will not go wrong. Read the Word because He is the Word Incarnate (John 1:14). Listen to The Holy Spirit; He’s in you, revealing Jesus day by day. Come on, flow in this River of Love! Only then will you go deeper and deeper, and there you will find your Father – Deep calls unto deep (Psalms 42:7).

Data

Heal & Rejuvenate

There was a time the word ‘data’ was a plural word meaning “facts or pieces of information”. Of recent times, the word data is one way that device users can gain wireless access to the internet.

In my world however, Data is a synonym that stands for:

Daily

Anointing

To

Attract

Reversing Verses

Daily

Every new day comes with its own agenda. A daily renewal is therefore required so that your software can be current in this dynamic times. You therefore have to make sure that your antennas are facing the right direction so that you may receive the right signals. Begin your day from finding out what’s in store. Spend time with God in prayer. That’s the only way you will receive the Rhema Word. Forget about yesterday. It is gone and will never return. This is the day the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it! You have been rejuvenated today. Daily Healing is more like it.

Anointing

This is the wireless enablement received once our data has been activated. Anointing comes from the Triune God: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. I love using the 3G analogy to portray God and 4G to portray my partnership with Him. God and I make a good team! You have been anointed. Empowered is more like it!

Year Of The Lord.jpg

To

Once you have been anointed, what next? You are able to:

  • Preach the Gospel to the poor
  • Heal the brokenhearted
  • Preach deliverance to the captives
  • Preach recovery of sight to the blind
  • Set at liberty them that are bruised

You have been appointed. Service is more like it!

“For God is working in you giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him” – Philippians 2:13

Attract Them To Christ.jpg

Attract

The anointing makes all the difference. This is what attracts the creation to the Creator. No human effort is required. All we have to do is lift God up by fulfilling His call over our lives; by going out and bringing in every creature; by daily walking according to His ways. Jesus is very attractive. Once He is allowed to dominate in our lives, the world automatically acknowledges Him as Lord and Savior! Our lifestyle speaks of our Life – Giver. (Read more of this at http://www.rhema.co.nz/the-word-for-today). Jesus conquered all when He died on the Cross. He bore all our iniquities and sicknesses; he paid the price that we might live; He did it all for you and I.You have been adorned. Beautified is more like it!

Once you surrender to this gospel, do not just preach the Word. Live it! I conclude by echoing St. Francis of Assisi’s words, “Preach the Gospel at all times and if necessary, use words”. You’ve got all the ‘Data’ bundles required for a stable connection: the medium connecting earth to heaven. Your subscription period is eternal. Your Service Provider changes not! He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). When you feel as though the connection is dying, this does not mean that the anointing is any less. It actually means that your battery is running low. Charge yourself up by praying in the Holy Spirit (Jude 20) and your network bars will be full again; ready to decode heaven’s language according to the needs thereof.

His Eye Is On The Sparrow

Security
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Psalms 23:4

God – Ultimate Security

There are times when we feel as though we’re all alone. These are the times we wanna give up. Everything seems to be caving in on us. This is when I practice my 2 – 3 – 4 rule (Psalms 23:4 – The numbers are sequential thus easy to memorize). You could also term it as Hope, Step and Jump!

  • Jump for Joy

Jump for Joy.jpg

What more security do we need? If a mere sparrow doesn’t end up in the wrong hands, how much more you and I? (Matthew 10:29) Focus on Him, the Author of our lives and all these other things shall become non – issues. Nothing is impossible with God. Go ahead! sign up for that task which seems difficult. He has gone before you. He has set angels to watch over you (Luke 4:10). There is light at the end of that tunnel you are in right now.  All you need to do is look up, go deeper and lift Him higher!

I Killed My Old Man

The Cross – My Cusp
Oh Yes, I did!

You ask me why?

There was no other choice. It was either he dies or I die. He was a slave, quick to anger and didn’t have a future. He was physically strong for sure, but I needed more than that; I needed supernatural strength. He was prone to diseases, failure, hurts, destruction and ultimately death. I had to end his life before he dragged me to eternal death with him.

the-old-man-is-dead

You ask me how I did it?

My Brother helped me out. We hang my old man on a tree. Yes, we crucified him! It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. The Cross became my Cusp – the dividing line between my old man and I.

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

I began to live the day my old man died. WheColossians+3v3+by+Alyssa+Reevesn he was alive, I was decaying since I had a sinful nature. Then my Brother came and showed me the filth in my old man. He made a way for me by being The Way, The Truth and The Life! He introduced me to Father. He gave me a new body; one that can accommodate Dad in it; How cool is that! Can you imagine He sent the Holy Spirit to guide and protect me on a real-time basis. What more could I ask for. He’s the greatest Resource you could ever have.

You ask me whether I regret it?

Not at all! He was the reason for all my problems. He was full of generational curses and sin. He was born into this world through Adam’s lineage: certified failure. When I was informed that I have to be born again, I knew for sure that he was too big to go back into mom’s womb, thus had to die.

You ask me what I gained from killing him?

New CreatureEternal Life! I was born into a new family. I became a new creature; totally transformed. This was instant in my spirit, a continuous process in my soul and will be perfected when this body eventually returns to dust. This is the sweetest journey I have had to take; one of knowing my new identity each day; one with assured victory; one with my Father in me and I in Him. He holds me up that I may not hit my foot on a stone. He leads me in the way I should follow. He is teaching me how to be like Him; ever Loving, never-failing. He sent His only Son to take my place on the cross (the Brother I told you about earlier; the one who helped me kill my old man). He did it all for me, that I might live.

Dying to selfMy old man did not want to die. This is the reason why there’s war in my head at times. What should I therefore do? I must take up my cross daily. everyday comes with its trials, problems, sicknesses, temptations, persecutions and so on. To hell with all these (actually that’s where all these belong). I have to consciously remember who I am and why I am still here. It is my responsibility to unlearn the things taught to me by my old man. I have the answers to all life’s issues in the Word and the Word dwells in me through the Holy Spirit. He came and made my heart His home. He became everything I am and all I know. Oh what a joy! Without Him I am nothing. In Him I live, in Him I move, in Him I have my being!

So what exactly am I saying?

My old man died. My new man was born. I can’t keep silent. It is the best thing that ever happened to me. My new man cannot die. He is hid in Christ Jesus. He who is in me is greater than he who’s in the world (1 John 4:4). He will never leave me nor forsake me. He holds my future by knowing my expected end (Jeremiah 29:11).

Now here’s the Good News!

What He has done is not for me alone. He did it for you and I. I’d be selfish to go on this eternal vacation on my own; walking on the streets of gold, owning an immortal body, a place with no sorrow, no sicknesses, no death, and so on. Guess what! He already made a reservation for you and went ahead and paid the full price. What are you waiting for? Raise your tree! Kill your old man! If you already have, take a seat next to me (follow me, like and share this post) as we journey the world-wide web with the intention of making him known in all corners of the earth. Isn’t this the reason we’re still here? to show the world His goodness that He may draw them to Himself?Draw men to Himself

exalt His Holy Name!

The Cycle Revealed!

butterfly-egg

I Started off as an egg. Very innocent, didn’t decide where to be born, no specific figure (simply round). At this point, I uniquely resembled those who bore me. They nurtured me and gave me their all as a head start of what was ahead. The cycles of life began to work on me. These again were beyond my control. I had to feed my way into growth.

I fed on mom (the leaf that carried me when I was an egg, I fed on the things I came across as I crawled; both good and bad. All these moulded me and prepared me for my next stage in life. The environment I was in determined my diet. I too was a danger to others as I tried to defend myself so as to survive. This, I must say, was a very influential part of my life. The schools I went to, the neighborhood I lived in, the God I was introduced to, and so on. Everyday is a learning experience and I, with the help of my seniors, managed to make the best out of it without missing the mark. Slowly by slowly I began to understand the reason for living. I began to look forward to beincaterpillar-with-bowg a butterfly. I had role models to look up to while I was faced with the challenge of selecting which colors I wanted to have on my wings. Some were already predetermined by my genes and upbringing, but others had to be acquired by the choices I made. Slowly by slowly I began to realize that this whole process was highly dependent on what I fed myself with; either Faith or fear. Whenever I was eating the right diet, exercising what I’ve learnt, my colors would begin to glow. Whenever I fed on rubbish and shamelessly practiced the same, my colors would fade. This became a cycle. A Kingdom citizen living in Babylon. Forces within and without began to fight. Since my exoskeleton does not stretch no matter how much I eat, the molting process began. A lot of outgrown skin had to be shed. This is the most painful process I have had to go through. Disconnecting myself from those who create distraction, dissension and disrespect. Choosing those who will go with me to the next stage to assist me in preparing to be a butterfly.

In my hearts of hearts, I thank God for my one Friend who will never leave nor forsake me; The One who knows my coming in and my going out. The One who knows my expected end; The One who came and made my heart His home; The One who breathed life into the egg that was nurtured into a larva and is now gearing to hibernate as a pupa; The One who will color the stripes on my butterfly  wings; I am talking about My Father, My Savior, My Paraclete!

4640501-butterfly-pupa-milkweed-butterflyHere I am now. I have fed my way into this. I’m finally done with the circles I made while feeding on the leaves. Having reached my full length and weight, I have acquired a new name – Chrysalis (Does it sound kinda like ‘Christ’ to you?). You can call me Christ’s Ally. From the outside, I may look as if I am just resting but the inside is where all the action is. I am rapidly changing. My old body parts are undergoing a remarkable transformation – You could call this metamorphosis – to become the beautiful parts that will make up the butterfly that will emerge.

I’m letting go of fear, failure, poverty, lack, disease, infirmity, laziness, doubt, hatred, hopelessness, bitterness and death.

I’m embracing Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Humility, Self – Control, Prosperity, Divine Health, Faith, Success, Abundance, Creativity and Zoe Life. I am learning the ropes of my call; getting to know my purpose, repenting of the damages I caused in my previous stage that had to be molted out of my life and thanking God for bringing me this far, despite lots of wrong turns taken again and again. I am also learning how to embrace those around me that have been assigned to take me through this stage. I need all the rest I can get.

I am about to burst out of this and pump the Blood that gives me strength from day to day so that I am strong enough to fly and begin to reproduce. My eggs will be determined by my character. They nebutterfly-18aed to be Kingdom minded eggs and not earthly ones; they need to be given a good head start in their own cycles so as to enjoy the process. The earth needs to be filled thus I need to save on time. Oh how I look forward to this day; a day when I will be soaring on high; seeing the world from above, where I am seated; manifesting God’s goodness in all its aspects. Sharing what I have with those who need it; totally and completely putting my trust in the One who never fails; walking the talk and making my Father proud!

One Dream Giver-God of Second Chances

One thing’s for sure, a fresh start ain’t as easy as it sounds. I’m talking of beginning all over again. Be it a relationship, or a business, a life skill or a course, something you had mastered to the point of performing it with your eyes closed. The story of my life. I must say there are two ways to look at it. Either sit back and count your losses or rise up, dust yourself and find a way of getting back on the saddle. I definitely went for the latter. I repeat: it wasn’t easy.

The good thing about starting over is having a chance to better the closed chapter. If it involves a spouse, you appreciate him/her more, learning from the one who is no more. If it’s to do with business, you become wiser in picking your partners, saving the seed, re injecting the capital, signing contracts for safety reasons and so on.

a-second-chance2

God is serious when He says He knows your expected end. He is also serious when He says you shall eat the good of the land. God is serious when He says the works of your hands are blessed. No doubt, He was very serious when He made Himself your Paraclete. Most of all, He is the Author of second chances, proving this by taking your place on the cross so that you could live again! I’m forever grateful!

Surround yourself with visionaries. Completely disconnect yourself from those who made you fail, those who brought you down and those who don’t believe in you. You have no apologies to make to them. Care to dream. Manage the consequences of your past failures bravely and maturely. Learn from them and move on. Spend time with your loved ones. Go out of your way for a friend. Join a support group if you have to. Run for your life, if you can’t walk for a cause. If both are not possible, Keep Calm and Ogelea (@ogeleaafrica) – meaning, ‘Relax and take a swim’.

I’m not refuting the fact that sometimes I can be sad and blue when I remember the time invested in a relationship that went to the dogs, cash that I toiled for and lost to a swindler, career that was cut short for one reason or the other and even a relationship with God that was not nurtured to fruitfulness. All these feelings come but I have chosen not to have a pity party. Instead I have chosen to thank God that my second chance came in my youthful years; I have learnt to be slow but sure, thinker before leaper, and before I forget I have also learnt a lesson: not to judge people because it is neither my job description nor my business. On the contrary, I choose to use the same comfort I have received from my Father to comfort those going through a similar path as mine. ‘Hii maisha ni kusaidiana’ (you’re alive for the purpose of giving a helping hand).

There’s so much to live for, so much to celebrate, so much to party about, so much to be thankful for. Embrace the second chance you’ve got and make The Giver proud!

Room 314

I began the journey at around 6 a.m. The traffic to town wasn’t too bad. The plan was to be in town by 9 a.m. so as to catch a shuttle to Nakuru. This, unlike other days, was a day full of many travels. Instead of working from our head office here in Nairobi, I was headed for spot checks cum meet – the branch colleagues. My itinerary wasn’t quite clear but all I knew is that I was to do a round trip in two days.

Day one began well. Got to the first branch before noon. A good start it was, learning their operations and sharing ideas on the way forward. The story was the same in the other branches (which were in different counties thus I spent a lot of time on the road). Evening came and I sought for a place to lay my head. I ended up in this dingy guest house, all in the name of promoting a friend. My room was called simba though no part of it lived to its name. All in all, I managed to rest.

Day two was tiring! The plan kept changing, causing some level of frustration. The idea was to clear the day’s assignment and return home. All this time my head was only thinking of work yet I had left my baby at home with a one week old nanny. I didn’t have time to panic cause duty called. The task at hand was accomplished successfully but time was not on my side. It was obvious that this was another night in a guest house.

My colleagues and I converged in Nakuru town and that is where they introduced me to Room 314! It was just a few minutes to midnight. Before paying for the service, I was asked to go upstairs, meet her and decide whether she was worth my sleep. It was love at first sight.

20151009_231638I must admit that her covers are much better than those I own right now. Look at her net….it’s so welcoming!

She managed to switch me from business trip to vacation mode. I don’t remember how long I was in the shower. All I remember is the volume of water coming from my eyes. The drainage couldn’t differentiate between the two. Both waters were warm; both waters were full of dirt since they were from cleansing; one within and one without. By the time my body was clean, my heart was open.

Room 314 was about to meet the real ANNEOBURE.

There was nothing to fear anymore. We were all alone. These walls, like all others, had ears. The only difference is they echoed back what I said only to me and gave me the guts to know that my secrets were safe with her. It hit me that I had never taken a holiday since I got hitched. Life became so busy, the one I thought would care about me became even busier. It was always about work, work, work. With little breaks of baby, baby, baby (no regrets).

One Day At A Time

(I’m adding this on the 18th of April, 2017: God has just opened my eyes and made me notice that Room 314 Resembles Rom 3:14, which says, ‘Whose mouth was full of cursing and bitterness!’ That was exactly who I was when originally writing this post.)

My mind drifted back to a time when I was just Anne Obure. I allowed myself to remember how it was. This was the transitional period between being Gordon and Jeddy’s little girl, to becoming someone’s companion. I remember treating myself, going out with my friends, doing mission work, loving on God in all possible ways. I don’t know when Anne Obure disappeared, but trust me I know for sure where she disappeared to. That’s the only reason she’s back! Bigger and Better! (literally…hahaha). Though beaten, not bitter. Cast down but not destroyed. In fact there’s a part of me that gets excited when I think of the past four years of pain. I’m yet to understand why.

20151010_081904This is where I found her; in Rm 314. Just as the net welcomed me the night before in the dark, likewise, the sun came through the window in the morning, caressing my back, drying the drenched sheets and telling me, “Gal, go out there and make it count once more!”

I must admit that despite the pain I have gone through (still going through), This one night event helped me realize that I’ve got to remain strong. It began as a hectic business trip and ended as a prescribed rest period that I thoroughly needed. Watch this space for Nyeri trip which is a week away!

I cannot end this post without introducing you guys to Rm 314. This is where she dwells: http://www.jovago.com/en-gb/kenya/o14010/leopard-view-hotel-nakuru

When in town, give her a visit. You will not regret. I trust her not to share my secrets with you. We share something more. I being 31, Rm 314 kinda sounds like the room for me. 31 for(4): For those who are 31. But worry not, she dwells with others: 001 – 313 and beyond! Calculate your age and take your pick. Who knows what her sisters have in store for you. A big thank you to the staff at Leopard View Hotel. The service was excellent! The meals were delicious too!

For now, meet the Guy who keeps me going; The One who’ll never let me go; Listen to His biography; He sticks really close…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=813-VofXK2Q

As I sit back and allow myself to daydream, my mind goes back to the year when I went through some counseling with the aim of getting married. I had met this guy that I felt would be a lovely dude to spend the rest of my life with and since we were members of the same church, there was very little opposition when we approached our various zonal pastors and made our intentions known. Before long, we got into the list for counselees who were tying the knot soon. The programme was awesome! Enjoyable, insightful, mature, spiritually enlightening, to mention but the least. To cut the long story short, this ain’t the guy who married me. I know you’re wondering why I got into so much detail, well, there’s one thing I learnt during this period that stuck with me for life: COUNTERFEIT.

One of the assignments we had been given is seven pointers on whether your fiancé is the ONE or not. Among the things to watch out for was ‘marrying a counterfeit’. This was the person you were 100% sure you wanted to spend the rest of your life with but you hadn’t taken him/her through screening, you hadn’t given the thought time to mature, etc. As the definition goes, this counterfeit partner was one who was a fake replica of your real soul mate; one who portrayed exactly the characteristics you went out searching for but contained a hidden agenda, character, with the intention to deceive or defraud. In short, this is a sham, bogus, fake person.

Have you ever heard of the saying that goes, ‘All shall be tested on the things they have learnt’? You better be attentive in the classroom you are in. Exams are round the corner. I jumped out of my premarital counseling class (which was aborted since I discovered that wasn’t ‘the’ dude) and bumped into my counterfeit. It’s a shame I failed that exam; big time!

Shortly after learning this lesson, I get my prince charming; I was so sure that I was done with all the frogs (I wonder whether this same saying is used in China where frogs aren’t viewed as bad). This guy came with a bounce and a tilt that swept me off my feet. This guy knew the things that ticked my clock and caused my boat to float. I opened up to him and lay myself bear before him (quite close to idolatry). This is coz I had been to many places, done so many unthinkables, broken a few hearts, thus I was sure these things could follow me to my matrimonial home, why not expose myself in advance. When it was his turn, he came out as one who had never sinned, never erred in his entire life. This was one of the many red flags that I still didn’t see. Just mention anything perfect, he was.

Before I could say ‘Jack Robinson’, I was Mrs. Counterfeit. This is a follow up from the previous post https://anneobure.wordpress.com/2015/09/24/september-the-24th/ I am still suffering the consequences of a bogus marriage. Sham is synonymous to counterfeit and quite close to his name.

counterfeit-cosmetics-signs

I wouldn’t wanna leave it on a sad note; not my nature. I have a way of making the best out of what I have. I have decided to view that experience as a necessary one. Since the counterfeit didn’t damage my originality (though it almost did), I have lived to tell the story. I’ll make sure that it is heard and read to the rooftops. Others can learn from it. I am rising up, still dusting myself as I revise the lessons I need to master. I’ve got an F1 generation to care for. Though he physically resembles the counterfeit (looks exactly like daddy), he’s still innocent and I’ll strive to ensure that he remains so by imparting original ideas, genuine motives and sincere character into his heart.

The big question is: How can something so fake produce something so real?

The big answer is: A God who ain’t a respecter of persons.

I’m honored to have a second chance. Lack of a cowardice spirit in me will result into trying that journey again sometime.

second-chance

This is a day I will remember…..even in eternity. (Oops! There’s neither space nor time in this dispensation). Anyway, it is the best day of my life in many ways. First and foremost, this is the day my loving mom and dad held me in their arms for the very first time. What a joy it must have been; to behold their second daughter. Finally a playmate for their naughty first (who happens to be not only a sister and a friend, but also my maid of honor). Due to lack of memory for this particular day, for obvious biological reasons, my description ends here.

This is the day I said ‘I Do’, twenty seven years later. I must admit that there was some sort of happiness. Could it have been due to this being the beginning of a new journey, thus anticipation of a better tomorrow (not to mean that the yester was a bummer…. single-hood was a ball!). Or maybe just as the Bible says, ‘Two are better than one’, that was reason enough to celebrate. Well, I didn’t get a chance to dance kanungo with all my relatives and friends (story for another day), but all in all, it was a success. Thanks be to God for such a chance. Many have but dreamt to have that ring in their finger, others have even gone ahead and worn meaningless ones for one reason or the other…. nothing against rings in general, but for this particular one on my finger……story for another day.

This is the day my one and only baby boy, Yuyu, took his first spoon of food after exclusively breastfeeding for six months. Many thanks to the moms on ‘Breastfeeding Support For Kenyan Moms’ as well as those on ‘My Newborn And Beyond’ as we prodded together towards the silver award mark. If ever there was something in life I am proud of, it is the selflessness lessons that I received during this period, when you have this little thing that’s totally dependent on you. Now you understand my relief when finally the weaning process began. Greater things have followed.

This is the day I finally held the keys to a car I called my own, exactly three years after getting hitched. All the jaluo in me came out. Lights, camera, action! My family and friends were informed of it seconds after I received it (or was it seconds before? Hahaha). Indeed I turned thirty in style, or so I thought. I felt loved, blessed, thought of, to mention the least. Just like the ring, this car is also a story for another day.

This is today! A day of new beginnings; a day of celebration; a day of remembrance; another year added to my life; a day of clarity regarding my pending issue. Yes! A day of confirming my existence as well as negating some decisions made in the past. Thank God it is a day that He has made, for us to rejoice and be glad. Mom I return to you: to thank you, to celebrate with you, to laugh/cry with you, to be your baby again. Happy Birthday Anne Obure!
Oh! It just got better! Mom says she had just turned twenty four when she had me…. wow! The doing of our Lord!

The End Of The World

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Enough Is Enough.”

Yesterday I had a good stare at this flower. It fascinated me. I found it quite beautiful despite the layer of dust concealing its glow.

I took a walk from work to a friend’s place (it took me an hour). My mind was full of stuff. I questioned reasons for global warming – whether it’s true or not, I wondered how long credit crunch would last and how it affects me, I tried to count the number of countries listed as first world, I kept licking my lipstick (I wasn’t sure whether the makeup I was wearing was real or fake). Then a friend texted me a link saying how we can make instant cash. This link happened to be a scum. This world’s issues were popping up, one after the other.

My mind began to race. I wondered what tomorrow held. Hahaha. That’s if tomorrow had hands to hold. Then it hit me! Enough is enough! If everyone stopped for a second and did what was expected of them….if everyone just did the right thing, all would be well. But then again people interpret the ‘right’ thing differently. Another dead end.

This is my conclusion. Let the ‘world’ come to an end. It shouldn’t dictate your status. Find what makes you happy without making others sad. Dance in the rain. Stop complaining. Enjoy the beauty around. Celebrate the ones you love. Work with what you have.

Give Love A Chance

There have been times when you have been hurt. Most of the times you didn’t go out of your way to suffer the misfortune; it somehow located you. Have you ever asked yourself, “Why me?” I have. It’s somewhat unfair. Some say ‘it’s life’. Others say ‘you ain’t seen nothing yet’. Can life really be that unpredictably painful? Does it depend on the way you look at it? Let me give you a short scenario: Shantel’s relationship with Darren comes to an end. Darren subsequently hooks up with Felicia. Felicia celebrates while Shantel’s world is shuttered. One man’s meat is another’s poison. Can we blame it on life’s troubles? Jaden gets his dream job just to realise that the man who occupied that office before him died in a road accident a month before. Should he celebrate the death that gave him this opportunity?

We have one life to live; one chance to make the best out of it.

When I was in kindergarten my greatest discomfort was how to cross the wide road outside our school.

Grade 1: Can I have extra milk during break? (we’d get government – sponsored milk)

Grade 2: Why can’t I stay in school til evening like the older kids?

Grade 3: Dictation is hard! Staying in class after lunch break is boring!

Grade 4: Do I have to share a desk with a boy?

Grade 5: I want to have hair as long as Naomi’s

Grade 6: Mom, can I go to boarding school?

Grade 7: Why don’t I get love letters from Peter? These ones from Charles suck!

Grade 8: Oh no! I wish I focused on school work more….. And the questions get complicated as we grow older.

Love will always smile at you, only if you give Him a chance. You definitely have questions as to why some things ended up the way they did. I’m not gonna give you the answer. All I can say is be the carrier of Love. If all of us do that, don’t you think things would be much better? Don’t wait for someone to die for you to speak in their funeral, stating how much you loved them. Take time to visit your aged parents and grandparents. Give them a reason to live another day. Call your kids up and reassure them of your love. It’ll build their self esteem.

Bottom line: Forgive and forget. Love needs you and I to move. Look up! Love is smiling on you. All you need to do is to mirror that beautiful smile to those around you.

Colour Your World

wp-1420704273709-1-1-1 Hey! Today I thought about you. Most of the time I think of ‘me’. I asked myself, “what makes you happy?”, “what makes you grumpy?”, “what makes you worthy?”, etc. To be honest, it’s hard to tell. The only person who can understand you is you. Everyone else will try to interprete your thoughts and actions. Some will get it right today and wrong tomorrow. Your daddy thought he knew you… til you married from another race. Your spouse thought she had finally mastered you… til you came out of the closet. Your children? Always show them a side they can look up to. Your teachers spoke highly of you, thank God you proved them right.

What am I trying to do? To understand you? No. I’m trying to make you understand you. Others don’t know you. Life is full of ups and downs. Use the latter as a support to get up and the former as a ceiling for your next endeavour. It’s funny how I began by saying it was you I was thinking of yet I can hear myself ministering to me. This just goes to strengthen my point: I know me as well as you know you.

Makes sense? Now that we have that in place, I’m here to inform you that you are the only one who can colour your world. There are no two people whose feet have stepped on the exact same spot throughout their days in this life. You think and act the way you do due to your make-up, upbringing, experiences, genes, teachings, exposure….. uniqueness is the word. Learn all you can from others.  Feel free to personalise your findings. If you come across something boring,  don’t complain. Maybe you were the missing ingredient needed to liven it up. There must be a reason why you were included on this earth; a reason why you stumbled upon these writings;  a reason why you are different.  Celebrate your uniqueness. Take time to dance (literally).

My Name: RANDRANTATIONS

image

The name is made up of three parts:
Rand (derived from the word ‘random’)
This means my topics are not tied to any specific category. I am able to write about anything and everything I deem fit. Subsequently, I gather information from all categories, depending on my immediate need.
Rant (Monologue. a lengthy note done in an emotionally charged manner by a single performer)
I am able to speak at length regarding a specific matter,  as interpreted in my ‘world’, influenced by things taught in classrooms, learnt from life’s experiences and most importantly, inspired by my Paraclete.
Suffix: -tion is used to form nouns meaning “the action of (a verb)” or “the result of (a verb)
Therefore Randrantations is a made up English word meaning writings of a passionate individual regarding all aspects of life, done with the hope of brightening dull situations and celebrating  bright ones.
Source of inspiration: I watched a video of Lexicographer Erin McKean on YouTube regarding the art of making new words. This way I was able to come up with a name that suits my blog. Talk of perfect timing! You can check her out on:

https://vialogue.wordpress.com/2014/12/23/ted-erin-mckean-go-ahead-make-up-new-words/
The overall outcome was a unique name. The tagline “Random Rants” is rather straightforward. These are legitimate English words explaining the blog name. Welcome to my world as it’s summarized herein. I hope it’ll make a difference in yours in one way or the other. Fill me in on yours too!

Who Am I? A Unique Physique

wpid-20150105_1247042.jpg.jpeg I am a creature, cut out for a specific task. The most interesting thing is the fact that I didn’t design myself but the Designer knew just what to equip me with. I am chiseled to fit into an exact spot, already drawn out for me. My passions: I like enjoying everything I do. I seek to make a difference everywhere I go. I have no particular field yet but experiment in almost anything I get my hands on. Being idle is like a disease to me. My desires: To see people smile; to see others enjoy life (myself included). My greatest dream: To make this life worth living, making use of the resources at my disposal. My description: A fun-loving young lady striving to make it count. A vibrant explorer allowing my fingers to get burnt as I go by. A teachable spirit finding my way to every practical classroom life throws my way. A short-tempered perfectionist who can’t settle for less. A curious child hoping to learn grown up stuff. A careless being making foolish mistakes. A loving mother trying to give my baby the best. A wife…..still trying to understand the role. My expectations: Exposure, mind-blowing knowledge, building relationships, travelling the world at the click of a button,  emptying the words clogging my brain, being a team player in this arena.
