Game Shot!

Via Spike.

My dad used to love darts with a passion! He’d take us with him to the canteen where there’d be tournaments and most of the times he used to win. I never got to learn the rules of the game, but I loved it when the referee would shout, ‘Game Shot!’ right after dad has thrown a missile. He’d run to us and throw us in the air with so much excitement!

In like manner, when our Heavenly Father spikes you with His glory, there’s a sharp increase in the magnitude of your ability to fulfill your Kingdom assignment. You are able to walk in His will without having to guess.

  • Luke 4 18The poor are delivered!
  • Everything you do is spot on!
  • The brokenhearted are healed!
  • The captives are delivered!
  • The blind begin to see!

Draw near to God and learn the rules of the game. There is a missile called the Word of God (Jesus Christ) and a Referee called the Holy Spirit. The board stands for this world. This missile needs to be as sharp as possible so that it can penetrate the board, rather than fall on the ground. At the same time, the referee will let you know when the time is right for you to throw.

Sharpen the arrows, fill the quivers! The LORD has aroused the spirit of the kings of the Medes, Because His purpose is against Babylon to destroy it; For it is the vengeance of the LORD, vengeance for His temple. – Jeremiah 51:11

Now go ahead and take a step of faith and throw your missiles! I hope I have demystified this wonderful journey we are in. Enjoy every assignment the Lord has for you because the end of it is already known: ‘Game Shot!’ He will pick you up and flood you with blessings and you will receive your reward – 1 Cor 3:8

A Ripple Effect

The source of knowledge has evolved over the years. There was a time African children sat in circles while the elderly poured out generational stories that had educative messages. Women taught their girls how to cook, clean and make good wives as the men challenged the boys on leadership skills as well as providing for their homes. A people were known by their ways of living thus only limited to their ancestral skills and strengths. One was a parent to their children as well as a teacher, a doctor, a leader, and any other need that arose.

As time went by, the missionaries came to Africa and brought with them good things such as schools, hospitals, and so on. Africans were enrolled into these schools (both young and old) and were taught other ways of doing things, other languages, and most importantly, other religions. This began with basic day-to-day skills being imparted on them as well as knowledge in the use of handy tools for making work easier. With time and a period of many years, the system grew and was categorized into progressive clusters: pre – school, preparatory, high school, college, university, and so on. The higher the cluster, the more specialized it became. This has given birth to doctors, teachers, engineers, chefs, political leaders, coaches, drivers, lawyers, beauticians, etc. The key point to note here is that one could only go to one school per time and specialize in one area. For instance, once you attained the grade required for Medicine, you’d receive an admission letter to enroll into a university and as a boarder, spend a few years of your youth learning nothing but doctor – related units.

Now has come a time when the world has come to our finger tips via the World Wide Web! You need a food recipe? It’s a click away! You’re having pain on your lower back? The doctor is right there. You could call the number on your screen , get a prescription emailed and forward it to your nearest pharmacist, who is more than willing to do home deliveries! You feel fatter than fitter? Tune in to online Zumba sessions and even receive a personal trainer! All these, while taking a few online courses: one on Law, another on IT, and yet another on Home Management. To make it even better, you’re a Chat Support Agent for an online Magazine, a Proofreader for an online News website, a Telemarketer for an online Clothes Shop; all of which are streams of income. Can life get any better?

In like manner, God’s plan has been unfolding through various stages. There was a time God led His people through one individual: His Spirit would come upon the chosen one and he would decode God’s message and relay it to the people. These men were the only ones who had a direct relationship with God. They had to come from a priestly lineage. One had to confess his or her sins to these guys and they’d represent the people in the Holy of Holies. Can you imagine this only happened once a year! So if one had committed a sin that was going to defile the community, they had to be excommunicated until the next annual confession day. The ordinary man (one who wasn’t a priest) had no idea who God is. All he saw was what God did. I compare this with our first paragraph that talks about the elders training the children in the traditional African setup.

Then came a time when the Son of God came from heaven to earth. What was His main agenda? To take away the sin of the world, that we may approach God’s Throne. He, through the scriptures, has shown us how we ought to live, and therefore set a syllabus that prepares us for my next paragraph.

  • He is our School of Medicine – Matt 8:5-17 (He healed the sick),
  • He is our School of Law – 1 John 2:1 (He advocates for us when we sin),
  • He is our School of Diet – 1 Cor 11:23-34 (The Holy Communion),
  • He is our School of Bio – Chemistry – John 2:1-11 (He turned water into wine),
  • He is our School of Creative Arts – Matt 14:22-33 (He walked on water),
  • He is our School of Ecology – Matt 8:23-27 (He calmed the storm),
  • He is our School of Political Science – Matt 21:12 (He whipped the money changers),
  • And many more Schools, according to the needs thereof.

During this era, God taught man via illustrations and these were geographically limited to Jesus’ physical location, as my paragraph above that speaks of man having to do one course at a time.

Now has come a time when the Holy Spirit, once we confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, comes in us and makes our hearts His home! Everything Jesus did, we can do, and greater things than He did (John 14:12). He is our Parakletos – He leads us to a deeper knowledge of the Gospel of Truth, and gives us divine strength needed to enable us to undergo trials and persecutions on behalf of the Kingdom. He teaches us all things – even reminds us what we have forgotten! (John 14:26). W

Here comes the ripple effect – When The Holy Spirit, through me, touches the world-wide web and boom! A serious jolt that’s out of this world (literally). That’s the only way I’ll manage to be God’s witness to the ends of the earth!

Liquid Love

Wow! When  God revealed this to me, I was utterly amazed. Today I was experiencing blogger’s block, not knowing that when I’m down to nothing, God’s up to something. He made me come up with the above illustration of Matthew 17:5 and I noticed how those center words (underlined) flow like a river; from above. God’s in the business of  revealing heaven’s answers to earth’s questions. This River heals everything that lies wherever it flows.

Now that we know Whom God is well pleased with, ain’t it easy to know how to please God? (Life’s FAQs) Simply follow Christ. You will not go wrong. Read the Word because He is the Word Incarnate (John 1:14). Listen to The Holy Spirit; He’s in you, revealing Jesus day by day. Come on, flow in this River of Love! Only then will you go deeper and deeper, and there you will find your Father – Deep calls unto deep (Psalms 42:7).

He Talks, I Type; I Walk, He Guides!

He died that I may live for Him;

He lives in me that I may move in Him;

He moves in me that I may walk like Him;

He walks with me that I may see His works;

He works in me that I may complete the task;

He completes me that I may be His Body!

He called me, I answered;

He did not force me but gathered.

He talks, I type;

I walk, He guides.

Heal & Rejuvenate

There was a time the word ‘data’ was a plural word meaning “facts or pieces of information”. Of recent times, the word data is one way that device users can gain wireless access to the internet.

In my world however, Data is a synonym that stands for:

Reversing Verses

Every new day comes with its own agenda. A daily renewal is therefore required so that your software can be current in this dynamic times. You therefore have to make sure that your antennas are facing the right direction so that you may receive the right signals. Begin your day from finding out what’s in store. Spend time with God in prayer. That’s the only way you will receive the Rhema Word. Forget about yesterday. It is gone and will never return. This is the day the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it! You have been rejuvenated today. Daily Healing is more like it.

This is the wireless enablement received once our data has been activated. Anointing comes from the Triune God: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. I love using the 3G analogy to portray God and 4G to portray my partnership with Him. God and I make a good team! You have been anointed. Empowered is more like it!

Once you have been anointed, what next? You are able to:

  • Preach the Gospel to the poor
  • Heal the brokenhearted
  • Preach deliverance to the captives
  • Preach recovery of sight to the blind
  • Set at liberty them that are bruised

You have been appointed. Service is more like it!

“For God is working in you giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him” – Philippians 2:13

The anointing makes all the difference. This is what attracts the creation to the Creator. No human effort is required. All we have to do is lift God up by fulfilling His call over our lives; by going out and bringing in every creature; by daily walking according to His ways. Jesus is very attractive. Once He is allowed to dominate in our lives, the world automatically acknowledges Him as Lord and Savior!Our lifestyle speaks of our Life – Giver. (Read more of this at Jesus conquered all when He died on the Cross. He bore all our iniquities and sicknesses; he paid the price that we might live; He did it all for you and I.You have been adorned. Beautified is more like it!

Once you surrender to this gospel, do not just preach the Word. Live it! I conclude by echoing St. Francis of Assisi’s words, “Preach the Gospel at all times and if necessary, use words”. You’ve got all the ‘Data’ bundles required for a stable connection: the medium connecting earth to heaven. Your subscription period is eternal. Your Service Provider changes not! He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). When you feel as though the connection is dying, this does not mean that the anointing is any less. It actually means that your battery is running low. Charge yourself up by praying in the Holy Spirit (Jude 20) and your network bars will be full again; ready to decode heaven’s language according to the needs thereof.
