The Greatest Innovations in the World!
…A Peculiar People From Above.
“What are you doing?” I asked as he keenly painted very tiny black dots within a red figure. He had just switched from a big brush to a smaller one. This man lived in a house located way above other houses, what you could term as top floor or better still, an attic.
Slowly but surely, the artist completed his drawing and out popped a ladybird, one so beautiful and full of life. It lingered a bit, and finally flew away. You should have seen the look on my face! Never in my thirty something years on planet earth had I witnessed anything close to this: simply unbelievable!
“Then I was beside Him, as a master workman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him” Proverbs 8:30 (NASB)
A new sheet was open. This time the theme was black and white, as opposed to the previous colored painting. The artist drew the back side of a man in a split of a second! He was done even before he began. While I still marveled at his immeasurable speed, he embarked on inserting trendy detail on this man’s haircut. Wow! You should have seen how much concentration he put on every stroke, every dot, every cut. As soon as he was done with this magnificent piece, the drawing came to life! Without turning to face us, the figure walked away, down an alley and round the bend. I was concerned, The artist wasn’t.
The artist then casually stood and asked me to follow him.
“Where are we going?” I asked. “Are you not going to teach me more?”
He answered, “It’s now time to rest. Follow me and I will teach you my kind of rest.”
“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”….. “And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.” (Genesis 1:26; 2:2)
We left the studio, down a long flight of stairs and onto a road, kinda like a street within an estate. We came to this ordinary looking shack and a huge guy opened for us the door. Although we didn’t enter but conversed with him at his patio, I could tell that these two had a good relationship; a father – son relationship. The resemblance was also quite evident: very polished.
Father asked son, “How do you manage to remain composed, knowing that your little brother lives on the ground floor of your building, in the assembly of thugs, yet you still come to intercede on his behalf?”
“Who is the one condemning? For it is Christ Jesus, the one having died, now rather having been raised up, who is also at the right hand of God, and who is interceding for us.” Romans 8:34.
The artist began to cry as he was deeply moved. Immediately, another look – alike appeared, this time round, a lady. She embraced him for a very long time, leaving me in an awkward position. All I wondered was how I could help this family reconcile with their son, brother, friend. That is when I woke up! A dream so real, I can still see, hear, feel, smell and touch the encounter.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the clear reminder. Help us Oh Lord not to come to You with questions on why the world is the way it is, but rather teach us Your kind of rest. Forgive us for the times we have walked away from You after receiving our blessings. Teach us to walk in Your ways. As we are on earth, may we learn to do only the things that we see You do in heaven. Jesus we thank You for continuously interceding for us. You have remained faithful to us even after we abandoned your teachings (The Word). Holy Spirit, without You we cannot make it. You have been our Comforter (2 Cor 1:4), wiping our tears and holding us close. Thank You for leading us to the Artist. Thank You for the dreams and visions. Thank You for the spiritual gifts in whole. Here we are, ready to learn Your kind of rest. Father Lead us in the Name of Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior and by the Power of the Holy Spirit we pray and believe, Amen.
“For if you return to the LORD, your brothers and your sons will find compassion before those who led them captive and will return to this land. For the LORD your God is gracious and compassionate, and will not turn His face away from you if you return to Him.” (2 Chronicles 30:9)
