The Day of The Lord

Crisp, Clear and Concise.
The Final Trumpet.
Greatest Reprieve!
Closer To The End of The Earth.

Let’s begin by summarizing the 3 steps before eternity checks in:

  1. Creation: It all began with the creation story. Adam was created by God solely for the purpose of him worshiping God. He used to commune with God face to face. The idea was for him to fill the earth with the likes of him and his beloved wife  Eve. Unfortunately the devil managed to trick him (as well as his wife) and sin checked in, giving birth to death. They could no longer appear before God as they used to. Man lost authority over the earth to the devil. Sin brought a curse into the world. Every one born of Adam was therefore born with this decaying nature, destined to suffer and ultimately die.
  2. Redemption: Thanks be to God for He already had a plan (He always does). God knows the end from the beginning. He is the Alpha and the Omega. Knowing that everyone born of man could not save man from this eternal death, He sent Jesus Christ, born of His Spirit, blameless in all His ways, to save the world. That is why Jesus had to be born of a virgin: so that He doesn’t possess the blood of man, which is already defiled. Did you know that in the fetus’ blood does not mix with it’s mother’s blood? Read more on this here. He came and died, went to hell and won back the keys to life. He did it all for you and I. Hell was never created for any man to occupy. The Holy Spirit came after Jesus returned to the Father so that He may guide us into all Truth – showing us how to become more like Jesus, that we may show the world the Word that came to set us (them) free.
  3. Salvation: God created us with self will. He calls us, by His Spirit, to His own and gives us the final choice to make. Salvation undid the curse and brought a blessing into the world. The only way to enter the Kingdom of God once again is through accepting the Lordship of Christ: allowing the blood of Jesus to wash away our sins and His death to speak for us, that we may attain eternal life – a place with no disease, no sorrow, no war, no sadness, no devils, no heartache. A place we shall forever worship our Father and our God.

The day of the Lord is near: a day when Jesus, our groom, is coming for us, His bride, to forever dwell with Him in eternity. This day is drawing nearer and nearer with every passing day. Isaiah Chapter 13 describes this day vividly (I hope to come up with a movie on it one day). Let me summarize it: God has prepared His army by placing His eternal purpose in all who have accepted His call. By prayer, fasting, witnessing and living a God – Centred life, we advance the kingdom of God, and He in turn draws the world to Himself. Why so? Because this earth is passing away. Scientists have proven that the ozone is depleting, the water bodies are exceeding their boundaries, earthquakes are coming, etc. In short, creation is groaning for the manifestation of the Sons of God. (Romans 8:19). Great destruction is coming and it will consume every fallen thing that will be on earth then. The earth will be destroyed and a new heaven and a new earth will arise. Should we panic? Not at all! God’s got us covered.

Action Plan:

  • Let us walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil. (Ephesians 5:15-16)
  • Let us speak boldly of the Gospel of Christ because it is the only power that can overcome the world. (Romans 1:16)
  • Let us go boldly to the ends of the earth because God is going with us and is giving us victory (Deuteronomy 20:4)
  • Let us do all that the Father tells us to do because everything works together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called by His name (Romans 8:28)
  • Let us gather together to pray and fast because it is the Lord mobilizing an army for war (Isaiah 13:4)
  • Let us remember to give God all the glory because He is the One causing us to triumph in His Name as we spread His Word – Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 2:14)

Prayer:

Thank you Lord for creating us, Thank You Lord for redeeming the world and saving us from death and into eternal life. Thank You for empowering us for the calling You have appointed us for. Thank You Holy Spirit for revealing Christ to us and guiding us in every step that we take. Lord You said, ‘Occupy till I come’. May our occupation be a fruitful one: winning souls, prospering in body and in soul, overcoming the evil one, doing what we see our Father in heaven do and making use of each and every resource you have made available to us, including social media.  I speak victory all round. I speak brotherly Love. I speak divine health. I speak salvation to every creature. I speak in the Name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Liquid Love

Wow! When  God revealed this to me, I was utterly amazed. Today I was experiencing blogger’s block, not knowing that when I’m down to nothing, God’s up to something. He made me come up with the above illustration of Matthew 17:5 and I noticed how those center words (underlined) flow like a river; from above. God’s in the business of  revealing heaven’s answers to earth’s questions. This River heals everything that lies wherever it flows.

Now that we know Whom God is well pleased with, ain’t it easy to know how to please God? (Life’s FAQs) Simply follow Christ. You will not go wrong. Read the Word because He is the Word Incarnate (John 1:14). Listen to The Holy Spirit; He’s in you, revealing Jesus day by day. Come on, flow in this River of Love! Only then will you go deeper and deeper, and there you will find your Father – Deep calls unto deep (Psalms 42:7).

He Talks, I Type; I Walk, He Guides!

He died that I may live for Him;

He lives in me that I may move in Him;

He moves in me that I may walk like Him;

He walks with me that I may see His works;

He works in me that I may complete the task;

He completes me that I may be His Body!

He called me, I answered;

He did not force me but gathered.

He talks, I type;

I walk, He guides.

Suffering The Child: Your Responsibility

What a joy it is to train a child on a certain task and see them perform it as expected. These little creatures watch us closely and before long, they begin to behave like us. It is therefore important that we take precaution in our daily happenings for the sake of transferring only the right attributes to them. The same applies to the principles of the Kingdom of God. Just as your child will learn how to walk, talk, smile and even clap by watching you and others do it, so does he or she learn of and about God.

Have you ever wondered why God used the word ‘suffer’? Does it sound too strong to be used in the same sentence as the word ‘child’? The first time I came across this verse, I was perplexed. I know that there are other translations that have used different words in the place of ‘suffer’, but this is purely for the sake of a better understanding to the target audience. After experiencing motherhood, I now support this word completely. It basically means that we have to do what it takes to ensure that these children catch the Kingdom Culture; we have to ensure that they do not miss heaven! Moreover, we have to do this while they are still young, so that we do not regret in the future when it is too late.

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

if-we-dont-teach-our-children-who-god-is-someone-7557521

A good example would be potty training. When they are born, children live on diapers as much as milk. There’s no greater joy to a mother than a child who has done a poop. At this stage, the diaper captures fieces; the only communication the infant’s body has with the doctor in case of an infection since speech has not been developed. As soon as the child is able to speak, potty training commences, and this process is very delicate as well as very important. Did you know that delayed toilet training puts children at a higher risk of developing bladder problems such as daytime incontinence, bed wetting and recurrent Urinary Tract Infections? For more information go to http://www.parentingscience.com/science-of-toilet-training.html. If potty training is not done at home, it will have to be done in school and the parent will have no control of the methods used. This may lead to low self esteem. In the same breath, if we don’t teach our children who God is, someone else will teach them everything that He’s not.

Deuteronomy

Teaching our children the ways of God does not necessarily entail a blackboard, some chalk and a stick. These little beings catch anything and everything. What does this mean? Our lives should mirror Christ. Monkey see, monkey do. The same God who has entrusted these kids to us is more than willing to guide us on this process, remembering that he is the Author and Perfecter of our lives, He is the Beginning and the End, He knew us (our children included) even before we were born. Our work therefore as parents and guardians is not only to nurture our children into physical successes, but also to unfold the Kingdom Agenda to them and help them find where they fit into it and together as the body of Christ we will be able to reconcile this world back to God.

The Cycle Revealed!

butterfly-egg

I Started off as an egg. Very innocent, didn’t decide where to be born, no specific figure (simply round). At this point, I uniquely resembled those who bore me. They nurtured me and gave me their all as a head start of what was ahead. The cycles of life began to work on me. These again were beyond my control. I had to feed my way into growth.

I fed on mom (the leaf that carried me when I was an egg, I fed on the things I came across as I crawled; both good and bad. All these moulded me and prepared me for my next stage in life. The environment I was in determined my diet. I too was a danger to others as I tried to defend myself so as to survive. This, I must say, was a very influential part of my life. The schools I went to, the neighborhood I lived in, the God I was introduced to, and so on. Everyday is a learning experience and I, with the help of my seniors, managed to make the best out of it without missing the mark. Slowly by slowly I began to understand the reason for living. I began to look forward to beincaterpillar-with-bowg a butterfly. I had role models to look up to while I was faced with the challenge of selecting which colors I wanted to have on my wings. Some were already predetermined by my genes and upbringing, but others had to be acquired by the choices I made. Slowly by slowly I began to realize that this whole process was highly dependent on what I fed myself with; either Faith or fear. Whenever I was eating the right diet, exercising what I’ve learnt, my colors would begin to glow. Whenever I fed on rubbish and shamelessly practiced the same, my colors would fade. This became a cycle. A Kingdom citizen living in Babylon. Forces within and without began to fight. Since my exoskeleton does not stretch no matter how much I eat, the molting process began. A lot of outgrown skin had to be shed. This is the most painful process I have had to go through. Disconnecting myself from those who create distraction, dissension and disrespect. Choosing those who will go with me to the next stage to assist me in preparing to be a butterfly.

In my hearts of hearts, I thank God for my one Friend who will never leave nor forsake me; The One who knows my coming in and my going out. The One who knows my expected end; The One who came and made my heart His home; The One who breathed life into the egg that was nurtured into a larva and is now gearing to hibernate as a pupa; The One who will color the stripes on my butterfly  wings; I am talking about My Father, My Savior, My Paraclete!

4640501-butterfly-pupa-milkweed-butterflyHere I am now. I have fed my way into this. I’m finally done with the circles I made while feeding on the leaves. Having reached my full length and weight, I have acquired a new name – Chrysalis (Does it sound kinda like ‘Christ’ to you?). You can call me Christ’s Ally. From the outside, I may look as if I am just resting but the inside is where all the action is. I am rapidly changing. My old body parts are undergoing a remarkable transformation – You could call this metamorphosis – to become the beautiful parts that will make up the butterfly that will emerge.

I’m letting go of fear, failure, poverty, lack, disease, infirmity, laziness, doubt, hatred, hopelessness, bitterness and death.

I’m embracing Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Humility, Self – Control, Prosperity, Divine Health, Faith, Success, Abundance, Creativity and Zoe Life. I am learning the ropes of my call; getting to know my purpose, repenting of the damages I caused in my previous stage that had to be molted out of my life and thanking God for bringing me this far, despite lots of wrong turns taken again and again. I am also learning how to embrace those around me that have been assigned to take me through this stage. I need all the rest I can get.

I am about to burst out of this and pump the Blood that gives me strength from day to day so that I am strong enough to fly and begin to reproduce. My eggs will be determined by my character. They nebutterfly-18aed to be Kingdom minded eggs and not earthly ones; they need to be given a good head start in their own cycles so as to enjoy the process. The earth needs to be filled thus I need to save on time. Oh how I look forward to this day; a day when I will be soaring on high; seeing the world from above, where I am seated; manifesting God’s goodness in all its aspects. Sharing what I have with those who need it; totally and completely putting my trust in the One who never fails; walking the talk and making my Father proud!

One Dream Giver-God of Second Chances

One thing’s for sure, a fresh start ain’t as easy as it sounds. I’m talking of beginning all over again. Be it a relationship, or a business, a life skill or a course, something you had mastered to the point of performing it with your eyes closed. The story of my life. I must say there are two ways to look at it. Either sit back and count your losses or rise up, dust yourself and find a way of getting back on the saddle. I definitely went for the latter. I repeat: it wasn’t easy.

The good thing about starting over is having a chance to better the closed chapter. If it involves a spouse, you appreciate him/her more, learning from the one who is no more. If it’s to do with business, you become wiser in picking your partners, saving the seed, re injecting the capital, signing contracts for safety reasons and so on.

a-second-chance2

God is serious when He says He knows your expected end. He is also serious when He says you shall eat the good of the land. God is serious when He says the works of your hands are blessed. No doubt, He was very serious when He made Himself your Paraclete. Most of all, He is the Author of second chances, proving this by taking your place on the cross so that you could live again! I’m forever grateful!

Surround yourself with visionaries. Completely disconnect yourself from those who made you fail, those who brought you down and those who don’t believe in you. You have no apologies to make to them. Care to dream. Manage the consequences of your past failures bravely and maturely. Learn from them and move on. Spend time with your loved ones. Go out of your way for a friend. Join a support group if you have to. Run for your life, if you can’t walk for a cause. If both are not possible, Keep Calm and Ogelea (@ogeleaafrica) – meaning, ‘Relax and take a swim’.

I’m not refuting the fact that sometimes I can be sad and blue when I remember the time invested in a relationship that went to the dogs, cash that I toiled for and lost to a swindler, career that was cut short for one reason or the other and even a relationship with God that was not nurtured to fruitfulness. All these feelings come but I have chosen not to have a pity party. Instead I have chosen to thank God that my second chance came in my youthful years; I have learnt to be slow but sure, thinker before leaper, and before I forget I have also learnt a lesson: not to judge people because it is neither my job description nor my business. On the contrary, I choose to use the same comfort I have received from my Father to comfort those going through a similar path as mine. ‘Hii maisha ni kusaidiana’ (you’re alive for the purpose of giving a helping hand).

There’s so much to live for, so much to celebrate, so much to party about, so much to be thankful for. Embrace the second chance you’ve got and make The Giver proud!

Yuyu & Tutu

“Pride and Joy.”

Yuyu received this new toy and immediately shouted,’Tutu!’ I couldn’t believe it. Every time I get him a gift, I always try to find a name for it before giving it to him. As for this one, I was ready to introduce him as Mr. Truck. Thank God the boy already had a name for his new found friend. He’s such a sharp boy with an active imagination. Meet Yuyu and Tutu!

I could never ask for anyone more precious than Yuyu. Ever since I got him, he has brought so much joy to my life and others’ lives too. Yuyu is a smiling machine, a joy bringer, a go getter, a miracle baby and most of all, a love child. He gives me a reason to rise up and keep searching for daily bread every morning when he wakes up and says, ‘Mommy, tatabix (weetabix), and ensures I have a good night sleep every night when he gives me a peck on my lips while saying, ‘nanyt‘.

We have fought various wars together, the first being nausea right after conception. This was followed by kicks and blows in my tummy every time he would hear drums being played in the office, and a massaging feeling when I would take a swim. Right after birth, we went through hell! Yuyu had a problem pulling out mummy juice since he was pretty tiny, despite the fact that I had milk; so much that I earned myself the name friesian cow. We emerged victorious all the same. Here he is now. My Pride & Joy. I wouldn’t trade him for anything.

A mother’s love for her son is pure and special.
It can not be broken or reckon with.
It’s a kind of love that softens even the hardest of hearts.
Love between mother and son is strong and visible from the sea.
It brings peace of mind and drys sad tears.
It can bring a man to his knees and make him weep.
A mother’s love for her son is not hidden or shy,
but is ever lasting that grows stronger each day.

I am so grateful to God for this chance He has given to me to love on this boy. He has equipped me with all that I need to achieve this task. He has assured me that He knows the plans He has for both of us and since the expected end is known, I’m always eager to know what lies ahead of us.
The journey is sweet though I must admit that there are rough terrains. Every tear that has fallen due to Yuyu is so worth it. Every sweat that has trickled down my brow and smudged my makeup cannot be regretted.
Yuyu you shall live up to your name: Yuken (meaning brave, courageous and healthy).  That is why your middle name is Shujaa – a hero. You are just the first of many to come. For now, it’s my pleasure to know you. I LOVE YOU!

How blessed I am to have you Baby Boy!
